In the classroom, he excelled, earning his Marketing degree from the prestigious Kelley School of Business, and earning Academic All Big-Ten honors in football and baseball.

Gibran displayed patience and resilience as he bided his time as a backup to the illustrious Antwaan Randle El for four seasons. However, Gibran's hard work and perseverance paid off in his fifth and final year when he seized the opportunity, excelling in six games, ultimately catching the attention of Steve Spurrier and the Washington Redskins, who drafted him to begin his professional football career.

His contributions to the baseball team were nothing short of exceptional, serving as a three-year starter and, in his senior year, being honored with the captaincy, a testament to his leadership on and off the field.

In his senior year at IU University, Gibran's leadership qualities extended beyond the field and into the realm of student representation. He was recognized and respected by his peers as a natural leader, resulting in his election as the President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
